Engineer-Turned-Coach, Dedicated to Unlocking Student Potential
Hello, I'm Renzo – an academic performance coach who believes that with the right structure and support, every student can excel. My journey to this role has been anything but ordinary, and it gives me a unique perspective in the education world.

From Engineering to Education
Academic Background
- →B.Sc. in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- →M.Sc. in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy)
I began my career by studying engineering, a discipline that honed my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. I earned my Master's degree at the prestigious Politecnico di Milano in Italy – an institution known worldwide for excellence in engineering and technology.
This rigorous background instilled in me a systems mindset: I approach academic challenges the way an engineer approaches a complex project, with logic, structure, and an eye for efficient solutions.
However, my true passion emerged when I started helping younger students with their studies. I realized that I could combine my technical expertise with my desire to make a meaningful impact on individual lives.
Coaching students in math and physics became not just a side activity, but my calling.
A Unique Cognitive Edge
I don't mention this often, but families working with me deserve to know the full picture. My own cognitive profile equips me with tools that deeply inform my coaching.
Top 1% Percentile
Exceptional problem-solving ability
Pattern Recognition
Swift diagnosis of learning gaps
I've been tested with an IQ of 139, placing me in the top percentile of problem solvers. I have an unusually strong memory and pattern recognition ability – which means I can quickly see where a student's understanding falls off or identify the hidden link they're missing in a problem.
More importantly, I use these abilities to benefit my students: to diagnose learning issues swiftly and design clever ways to overcome them.
“But raw intelligence alone doesn't teach – empathy and communication do.”
Empathy & Neurodivergent Connection
In addition to my analytical side, I'm proud to be a highly empathetic person. Some might say I think a little differently – I've been described as having a neurodivergent streak myself, which likely contributes to my creativity and deep focus.
Rather than label it, I consider it an asset: it helps me connect with students who learn differently, and to be patient and understanding when a typical approach isn't working.
My students (and their parents) often comment on my patience and clarity. I take that as the highest compliment – it means I'm meeting them where they are and guiding them forward without judgment.
Global Experience, Personal Focus
10+ Years
of International Coaching
Over the past 10+ years, I've had the privilege of working with students from all over the world. Based in Milan and operating virtually across time zones, I've coached IB and IGCSE students on almost every continent – from Europe's top international schools to ambitious learners in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
This global exposure has taught me adaptability and cultural sensitivity. Every family has its own set of expectations and every student their own story. I make it a point to listen and learn, customizing my support to fit your context.

Despite the distance, families often say our collaboration feels personal and attentive – that's a conscious effort on my part. I limit the number of students I work with each term precisely so I can devote my full energy and attention to each one.
When you work with me, you're not hiring a big impersonal agency; you're getting a dedicated mentor who is all in on your child's success.
“The ultimate test of a coach is the student's independence.”
I founded this coaching practice on a simple principle: the ultimate test of a coach is the student's independence. I measure my success not just by grades achieved (though those are important), but by seeing my students mature into confident, self-reliant learners.
I want them to no longer need me eventually because they have gained the tools and mindset to tackle any academic challenge. Everything I do – from the weekly dashboard tasks to the exam simulations – is aimed at empowering the student.
Integrity & Realism
I won't make wild promises or guarantees. What I will do is give an honest assessment of where a student stands and a structured plan for improvement. If I don't think I'm the right fit or if a different approach is needed, I will say so.
Personal Commitment
This work is my passion, and I take my students' goals personally. Their success is my success.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can determine if this coaching model is the right match for your child.
It would be my honor to partner with your family on this journey toward academic excellence and personal growth.
