Grade 3 → Grade 7
Aline Pascarelli · IB Math AI SL
“As a student who moved from a Level 3 in IB Maths AI SL at the beginning of my IB course to obtaining a Level 7 in my final exam papers, I would highly recommend Renzo as a Private Tutor. Renzo helped me overcome and understand the difficulties and challenges I encountered over the 2 year program. I am confident I would not have been able to obtain this grade without his help!”

From IGCSE Maths to IB Physics HL
Greta Lotti
IGCSE Maths 0607 → IB Physics HLJul 2026
“I've been working with Renzo for the past years. Firstly helping me with IGCSE maths and later with IB Physics HL. Throughout these years, he has been an incredible teacher. One of the things I appreciated the most about his teaching is that he never simply explained the exercise I was struggling with. Instead, he would always try to identify the root of my confusion, taking time to fill in the knowledge gaps. Additionally, he was always looking for new ways to explain complex concepts or exercises, making sure I understood everything in depth. Whenever we spent extra time on questions or exercises that required more thinking or discussion, he would extend our sessions so that we could make up for the extra time spent and could finish properly, making sure I got the most out of every lesson.”

Two subjects, both to 7s
Blake Eustaquio
IB Physics SL + Math AI HLAug 2025
“I cannot recommend working with Renzo enough. When I first started working with Renzo in the first year of my IB journey, I was struggling a lot with Physics and Math Applications (where my first report card scored 3 & 4). Also, at this time the IB changed the syllabus and created new papers making class in school a blind test. Despite this difficulty, Renzo adapted fully and helped me bring both classes from low grades up to 7's. Apart from being a very kind and intelligent person, Renzo has the resources to guide the student along. Renzo adapts his teaching to the students needs, he can spend more or less time on a subject as long as the student understands it. In my case, Renzo and I had a set schedule per week, where we would work on problems I needed help with from school and advance in covering IB syllabus content. Then, he would send me practice questions to go over my incorrect answers in the following session. Overall, if you are looking for someone who cares about your success, knows IB or IGCSE content by heart, and can break down difficult content into something much more understandable, Renzo is definitely worth it!”

From no confidence to a 7 in Physics
Leandro Iñiguez
IB Physics SL + Math HLJul 2022
“I prepared with Renzo for both my Physics SL and Maths HL IB exams. I had a lot of problems regarding self-confidence as well as comprehending some of the concepts and understanding how to approach the problems presented. However, Renzo managed to help me navigate through these issues and achieve what I wanted, managing to get a 7 in Physics as well as a 5 in Maths, having been only one mark away from a 6. Having had 1 or 2 classes per week with him helped me to stay on track and feel extremely prepared for my exams to the point where I was quite calm as I went through them. I am able to wholeheartedly recommend his classes, especially because of his flexibility and adaptability to your own learning style as well as the way in which he aids you to understand through analogies, careful explanation and constant practice of exam-like questions!”

Through the IB — and on into a physics degree
Yuval Rossen
IB Math HL + Physics HLAug 2022
“Renzo has been helping me with physics and math throughout the 2-year course of IB. As tough and challenging as the programme can be, Renzo has guided and helped me so much in understanding the fundamental concepts of the courses. My knowledge and understanding has dramatically boosted as a result of our classes and, having solved so many past paper questions in our classes and independently, I was very well prepared for both exams. Renzo is really an exceptional teacher in any way that I can think of: not only does he know the content I was taught extremely well, but he can explain it in a very clear and easy-to-understand manner. He was always the go-to person I would turn to with any questions or doubts I had in either subject. Having recently received my diploma and results, I am very proud of what we have accomplished. I will soon be going off to university to study applied physics, and have coordinated with Renzo to continue our lessons throughout my degree. He is without a doubt one of the best teachers I have ever had and I cannot recommend him enough.”

“I've had the privilege of working with Renzo as my math tutor for the past four years, and I can confidently say he's been instrumental in helping me achieve my academic goals. From the very beginning, Renzo has consistently shown dedication, patience, and professionalism. What sets Renzo apart is his incredible availability and organization. No matter how busy things got—whether it was during exam season or while preparing for important assessments—he always made time to help. He was never late, always prepared, and quick to respond whenever I had a question or needed to adjust a session.”
“I tried multiple tutors before Renzo but I never got the results and improvement in my understanding of the subject and school grades as I did with him. His updated teaching methods, such as the use of a touch tablet which lets him teach subject visually and clearly and the possibility of having screen shared online lessons as if he was there in person. I highly recommend Renzo as a tutor for all ages and subjects of matter.”
“For 2 years Renzo helped me with IB maths, he single handedly taught me the whole IB syllabus guiding me through the course where I finally got a 6 in the final exam. Renzo is excellent in explaining difficult concepts and making them seemingly simple to comprehend and easy to approach. He has lots of patience and has supported me the best he can throughout the years with his numerous resources. For these reasons I throughly recommend his services. Grazie Renzo :)”
“Renzo tutored me in ib maths and he always found creative and simple ways to explain the concepts. To use him to the max i recommend doing practice papers and working with him on those you got wrong but he can also do lessons where he explains the concepts and you do the questions in the lesson. He was able to teach me concepts on the spot without me having to tell him before the lesson which was very useful. Also just has a genuine and positive attitude which always helps!”
“Patient, capable, and understanding. Combine that with a sense of humor and knowledge surrounding IB physics, and you have Renzo. I wouldn't know half the stuff that was on the exam if not for his help. I'm obliged to recommend his services.”
“Renzo mi ha aiutato molto durante il mio ultimo anno di liceo a migliorare in matematica. Sono partita da un livello basso e grazie a lui sono riuscita a raggiungere tutti i miei obbiettivi. I grandi miglioramenti che ho fatto in un solo anno sono tutti grazie alla sua organizzazione e pazienza. Ad oggi sono contenta del progresso fatto e del livello che ho raggiunto.”
“Renzo helped me enormously during my final year in improving at maths. I started from a low level and thanks to him I managed to reach all my objectives. The huge improvements I made in a single year are all down to his organisation and patience. Today I'm happy with the progress I've made and the level I've reached.”
“I do repetitions with Renzo since a few years, as he is very good in teaching and I seem to take very good grades both in high school and now at university. He is an extremely helpful tutor always ready to explain you new techniques of learning adapting it to each person.”
“Mr. Renzo is a highly effective teacher who excels in teaching both math and physics. He is skilled at explaining complex concepts in a way that his students can easily understand. This is an essential quality for any teacher, particularly in the fields of math and physics, which can be challenging for many students. Also, he cares about his students and is passionate about helping them learn and grow. His commitment to his students' success is an invaluable asset and can inspire students to work harder and achieve more.”

What these cases have in common
Patterns matter more than individual cases. Read together rather than separately, what becomes visible is not a series of lucky outcomes — it is a consistent set of conditions under which the work produces the result.
Recovery from very low starting points
Aline started at 3. Blake at 3 and 4. Leandro with low confidence and conceptual gaps. None of these were students close to target who needed a final push. They were students for whom the standard approach had not produced movement at all — where the question was not how to optimise, but how to start over.
Long engagements rather than exam-cram fixes
Tommaso, four years. Yuval, the full IB cycle and continuing through university. Aline and Leandro, both two-year IB programmes start to finish. Most of these results came from sustained structural work across the full diploma, not from intensive last-month preparation.
Written papers move first, school-internal results follow
The work produces sharp gains in exam-format performance most quickly. School-internal assessments, which depend on teacher discretion and rubric interpretation, follow more slowly. That is honest information for a family to have before starting.
Independently checkable
The full review history is public on Google, under the reviewers' own accounts and Google's dates — not a version that exists only here. That is the difference between a testimonial and evidence.
Not every family is named here. These are from my own records.
- One student moved from the bottom grade to a mid-band mark in IB Math AI SL within a single trimester.
- Another student's mid-year test result roughly tripled, and the trajectory held into a stronger trimester grade.
- A lower-secondary student closed the year with two school academic awards.
