2. Your Ascentiq account

• •A student account is created on Ascentiq, using Google sign-in. The minimum age to hold an account is 14.
• •The account is for the student’s personal use. Do not share the login, and do not use automated means to access the platform or attempt to bypass its security or rate limits.
• •Where the student is under 18, the parent or legal guardian sets up or authorises the account, accepts these Terms as the contracting party, and is responsible for the student’s use of it.

3. Application and acceptance

• •Admission is selective. A limited number of students is taken each term so that each engagement receives the attention it requires.
• •By applying you agree to give accurate information about the student’s academic situation.
• •A place is confirmed only once the Client Agreement (which incorporates these Terms and the Privacy Policy) is signed (or, for a fixed-package program, the Program Agreement is accepted at checkout) and payment is received.
• •For fixed-package programs, such as the IB Tutoring — Starter Package, a Program Agreement accepted at checkout applies instead of a signed Client Agreement. Where the Program Agreement differs from these Terms, the Program Agreement prevails for that program. The price of each program is stated in writing before enrolment.

4. Fees, scheduling and cancellations

• •There is no fixed public price. The fee for each program or engagement is stated in writing before enrolment. For an ongoing engagement it is set at the intake conversation, calculated from the student’s level, the weekly cadence agreed and the length of the commitment.
• •Applying and the two intake conversations are free of charge.
• •Payment is made in advance, unless agreed otherwise in writing. Enrolment is confirmed once payment is received, and the electronic invoice follows after payment. Persistent non-payment may lead to suspension of the Services.
• •You may reschedule a session free of charge with at least 48 hours’ notice, subject to Renzo Diaz’s availability. Once per calendar month, Renzo Diaz may at his discretion allow a change at shorter notice for an emergency such as illness. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice (outside that exception), or the student does not attend, the session counts as delivered, because the reserved time cannot be reused. You may show that Renzo Diaz suffered no loss or a lower loss, in which case the lower amount applies.
• •If Renzo Diaz cancels, is late, or a technical problem on his side shortens a session, he extends the session or gives a replacement session at no cost. If neither is possible, he refunds that session.
• •Fixed-package programs are valid for a stated period (for the IB Tutoring — Starter Package, 8 weeks from payment). Sessions not used within that period lapse without refund, unless you have withdrawn or the law gives you a right to a refund.
• •Except as set out in these Terms or in your agreement, or where the law gives you a right to a refund, fees are non-refundable once the 14-day withdrawal period has ended. Renzo Diaz may consider exceptions case by case.

5. Right of withdrawal (Diritto di Recesso)

• •If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The period starts on the day the contract is concluded.
• •To withdraw, send Renzo Diaz a clear statement of your decision by email to renzo@ascentiq.io (or by post to the address in Section 11). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your communication before the withdrawal period expires.
• •If you ask Renzo Diaz to start the services during the withdrawal period, you pay an amount in proportion to what he has provided up to the moment you tell him of your withdrawal, compared with the full contract. Once the services have been fully performed, you lose the right of withdrawal, provided you expressly asked him to start and acknowledged this.
• •Renzo Diaz refunds what you do not owe without undue delay and within 14 days of being informed of your decision, using the payment method you used, at no cost to you.

6. Session recordings

• •Lessons are recorded and transcribed through Zoom, and notes and summaries are stored in a searchable archive that Renzo Diaz keeps during the engagement and for up to 6 months after it ends. Recording is an essential part of the service (session replays and written summaries), and you accept it when you enrol.
• •A visible notice shows when a recording is running. If the student objects to being recorded, Renzo Diaz talks it through with you; if the objection remains, the service cannot continue as described and he refunds the sessions not yet delivered.
• •Recordings, transcripts and summaries are for the student’s personal educational use only and must not be shared or published. Using any part of a recording for marketing or testimonials is never part of the service and requires separate, optional written approval (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Responsibilities and results

• •The student is expected to attend, complete the agreed practice, and use the tools provided.
• •Parents are expected to support attendance and to communicate openly about progress and any concerns.
• •The Services provide a documented method and structured support. Outcomes depend on the student’s starting point, effort and consistency.
• •No specific exam score, grade or university placement is guaranteed. Documented past results are offered as precedent, not as a promise.

8. Intellectual property

• •Teaching materials, dashboards, AI tools and other resources are provided for the student’s personal use only, and may not be copied, distributed or resold.
• •Session recordings, transcripts and AI study notes: Renzo Diaz retains ownership of them as teaching work product; the student is granted a personal, non-transferable licence to access and use them for their own study for the retention period set in the Privacy Policy.

9. Privacy and data protection

All personal data is handled in line with the GDPR and the Italian Data Protection Code, as described in the Privacy Policy; the third parties involved in delivering the Services are listed in the sub-processor register. Student information, progress data and communications are kept confidential and are not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

10. Governing law and dispute resolution

• •Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. You may bring a claim before the courts of the place where you live, and Renzo Diaz will bring claims against you only before those courts.
• •Renzo Diaz is not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body.
